C.02 / Ekam vs Groww

Ekam vs Groww

Groww is a discount broker + mf. Ekam is the household ledger — every account and asset class in one honest number, built from statements you already have. Here's how they actually differ — and where Groww is the better tool.

EkamThis is us
Multi-asset net-worth aggregator

A broker-agnostic personal-wealth aggregator built on statements you already have — no broker login — folding equity, mutual funds, US stocks, EPF, FDs, bonds and cash into a single net worth, with advisor-grade analytics on top and nothing to sell you.

Groww
Discount broker + MF

A popular discount broker and direct-MF platform with a clean app, low flat brokerage and notably strong tax P&L tooling — but it mostly shows what you hold and trade through Groww.

The honest verdict

Groww is a fine low-cost broker; Ekam sits above your brokers, combining Groww and everything else into one neutral net worth.

Where Ekam fits better

  • Aggregates across every broker and asset class — Groww mostly shows its own holdings.
  • EPF, FDs, bonds, US stocks and cash in one net worth.
  • Advisor-grade risk analytics and per-holding decision cues.
  • Neutral, with no broker connection of its own — Ekam isn't trying to be your broker.

Where Groww is stronger

  • Actual low-cost execution across equity, F&O, IPOs and MFs.
  • Excellent tax tooling — consolidated Tax P&L and pre-redemption tax estimates.
  • A clean, beginner-friendly app and MF consolidation via CAS.

Ekam pricing
Individual free forever; Family ₹3,999/yr + GST

Two plans, no add-ons, and no trial — Individual is free forever, not a runway: one net worth across every Indian asset class for one person, with unlimited accounts, imports, holdings, XIRR, end-of-day prices, in-app alerts and the whole Indian tax year (realised gains, the estimate and harvesting room), plus 12 months of rolling history and 2 open goals. Family (₹3,999 a year + GST) covers six people under one roll-up with a per-member view, and folds in the Wealth Lab — stress test, liquidity ladder, tax drag, real return, fund-rating changes — plus foreign assets and accounts, the tax year per member, the Sunday email digest, and unlimited history and goals; people beyond six are ₹399 + GST each a year (introductory, ₹499 later) on the same invoice, up to 12. Prices exclude GST. Billing is not open yet: accounts opened before it starts keep a founding price of ₹2,499 + GST a year for as long as they stay subscribed. Schedule FA/Form 67, PDF reports, an estate register and a CA share link are described as on the way, not sold. A Wealth Advisor tier (₹9,999/yr reference price) for CAs, RIAs and family offices managing several clients' books is on the roadmap, not yet built or sold.
