1. What the service is
Ekam is a household ledger. It reads the statements you supply — a consolidated account statement, a broker export, a passbook line you type in — and shows your holdings, your net worth and the analysis on top, priced from official closing records. It only ever reads: it cannot place an order, move money, or act on any account of yours.
Facts and eligibility, not advice. Everything Ekam shows you is a factual observation of what you already own, or a statement of what a rule or a threshold is. Ekam is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst, and nothing on any screen, in any email or in any tip is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold or switch any security, fund or product. Ekam is not a broker, a distributor or a fund house, and it earns nothing from any transaction you make.
2. Who may use it
You must be at least 18 years old, and either resident in India or a non-resident Indian managing Indian holdings. An account is for one person; where a plan allows you to add other members of your household, you are responsible for having their permission to record their holdings in your ledger.
3. Your account and your data
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you believe someone else has used it.
Your data is yours. Everything you import or type in stays your property. Ekam holds it only to run the service for you, never sells or shares it for anyone else’s marketing, and gives you a copy or erases it on request. How it is collected, where it lives and how long it is kept — and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — are set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
4. Plans and billing
Individual is free, forever. It is not a trial: nothing expires and nothing turns read-only.
Family is a paid plan, billed annually in Indian rupees at ₹3,999 a year + GST. Every price is stated before tax; GST is added on top and shown in full at checkout. There is no monthly option and no trial.
The founding price. Accounts opened before billing starts keep ₹2,499 + GST a year for as long as they stay subscribed. The price is honoured for as long as the subscription stays continuous; if it lapses and is taken up again later, the price in force at that time applies.
Renewal and cancellation. A paid plan renews at the end of each year unless you cancel before the renewal date. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan stays active until the year you have paid for ends. Fees already paid are not refunded in part, except where the law requires a refund. On cancellation your account continues on Individual with its limits, and your data stays yours to export or erase.
Billing is not open yet. Billing opens soon. Until then, Family is open to any account that asks for it — and every account opened before billing starts keeps the founding price. Until a checkout exists, no card is taken and nothing is charged. These billing terms take effect the day billing opens, and you will be told in the app before it does.
5. Acceptable use
Use the service for your own household’s money, or for members who have agreed to be in your ledger. Do not try to read another person’s data, probe or overload the service, work around a plan’s limits, resell access, or feed the service data you have no right to hold. Do not use it for anything unlawful.
6. Availability and accuracy
Ekam is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. We work to keep it up and to tell you when it is not, but there is no promised uptime and no credit for downtime.
The figures you see are only as accurate as the statements you supply and the public feeds they are priced from. Closing prices, fund values, corporate actions and exchange rates come from exchange, AMFI and other public records, on a schedule, and can be late, revised or wrong at the source. Anything marked illustrative is illustrative and not your money. Check any figure against the issuing institution’s own records before relying on it for a filing or a decision.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Ekam’s total liability to you for anything arising out of the service, in any year, is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Where you have paid nothing, that limit is nil. Ekam is not liable for indirect loss — a lost gain, a tax consequence, a decision taken on a figure shown here, or the loss of data you did not keep a copy of. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
8. Ending the arrangement
You can delete your account at any time from Settings; that ends these terms for you, and the privacy policy says what happens to your data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 5, after telling you why where the law allows. We may also withdraw the service as a whole with at least sixty days’ notice, during which your data stays exportable — the exit was built before the front door.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms carry a version — the date at the top — in the same way the privacy policy does. A material change is announced in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that date is acceptance of the new version. A change that makes a paid plan worse during a year you have already paid for does not apply to you until the next renewal.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that cannot be settled by writing to us first goes to the courts at [city], India, which have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions about these terms go to privacy@ekam.app.
