Ekam vs smallcase
smallcase is a thematic baskets + wealth office. Ekam is the household ledger — every account and asset class in one honest number, built from statements you already have. Here's how they actually differ — and where smallcase is the better tool.
A broker-agnostic personal-wealth aggregator built on statements you already have — no broker login — folding equity, mutual funds, US stocks, EPF, FDs, bonds and cash into a single net worth, with advisor-grade analytics on top and nothing to sell you.
A platform of ready-made stock/ETF baskets built by SEBI-registered managers and executed through your own broker, now with a 'Wealth Office' net-worth aggregator across brokers and asset classes.
smallcase is for buying and running expert strategies; Ekam is the independent scoreboard for everything you hold, baskets included.
Where Ekam fits better
- Neutral: Ekam has no baskets, fees or rebalances to sell — it just shows the truth.
- Deeper portfolio risk analytics (stress test, liquidity ladder, real return) than an investment score.
- US stocks, EPF, FDs and cash with a maturity/cashflow calendar.
- No broker login and self-hostable; no transaction or subscription fees on your own data.
Where smallcase is stronger
- 500+ expert-built, SEBI-registered model portfolios you can actually invest in.
- Strong multi-broker integrations and a broad Wealth Office aggregator.
- Direct demat ownership of baskets with no pooling or lock-in.

Two plans, no add-ons, and no trial — Individual is free forever, not a runway: one net worth across every Indian asset class for one person, with unlimited accounts, imports, holdings, XIRR, end-of-day prices, in-app alerts and the whole Indian tax year (realised gains, the estimate and harvesting room), plus 12 months of rolling history and 2 open goals. Family (₹3,999 a year + GST) covers six people under one roll-up with a per-member view, and folds in the Wealth Lab — stress test, liquidity ladder, tax drag, real return, fund-rating changes — plus foreign assets and accounts, the tax year per member, the Sunday email digest, and unlimited history and goals; people beyond six are ₹399 + GST each a year (introductory, ₹499 later) on the same invoice, up to 12. Prices exclude GST. Billing is not open yet: accounts opened before it starts keep a founding price of ₹2,499 + GST a year for as long as they stay subscribed. Schedule FA/Form 67, PDF reports, an estate register and a CA share link are described as on the way, not sold. A Wealth Advisor tier (₹9,999/yr reference price) for CAs, RIAs and family offices managing several clients' books is on the roadmap, not yet built or sold.
Browsing/tracking free. Transaction fee ~₹100 + GST (capped 1.5%) per lump-sum buy; SIP ~₹10. Premium smallcases add opaque, manager-set subscription fees.
Sources & methodology
Capabilities were compiled from smallcase's own pages and reputable reviews (checked June 2026). Indian fintech features and pricing change frequently and are often promo-driven; treat figures as point-in-time. "Partial" marks a real but narrower capability or one we could not fully verify — hover any dotted mark above for the specific caveat.
